Christmas in the South.

We won't be having a white Christmas this year.
I know, some of you would love to say the same thing, but you know, I grew up in the North with real winters, and I kind of miss it.
There is something romantic and cosy about being home with the ones you love on Christmas, soft snowflakes falling outside and the world is quiet.

There are certain compensations that go with a Southern Christmas.

We spent some time in Charleston South Carolina earlier this month.

 Charleston still blooms in December.

 Pink Rose.

 Stained glass inspiration.

 A typically friendly Charleston resident.

 Holiday transportation, red and green.

Our Christmas tree.

May all the peace and happiness of the holidays be yours.
Merry Christmas,
Kat,

  1. No snow up here in New England yet but we did get a few scattered flurries yesterday. Even without the snow though, Christmas in the south always looks so different than Christmas in New England. You still get pretty blooms!

Best wishes to you and yours for a very Merry Christmas and a fantastic New Year!

  2. I would take a warm, dry, green Christmas any day, over our Ontario winters. :-)

Peace and blessings to you and your husband and all those you love. Merry Christmas.

  5. Just cold and very damp here. Many areas have been flooded {but not us on the hill} and in large areas people are being advised not to travel.

We're all ready for the festivities here. For the first time it will be just the two of us which took a bit of getting used to but now we are really looking forward to it. We hope you and yours have a great time.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year frae bonnie Scotland!

  7. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas, Kat. We did get snow on Christmas day. That is enough to nearly cause Texans for faint or go crazy trying to figure out if we have enough milk, bread, chocolate, eggs, etc....you know the ole survivalist mode kicks in. :) We still had a bit of snow yesterday, but it is gone now.
